Course Content

Our cocktails and mixology course is broken down into three easy to follow modules: –

Introduction and Getting Started – In this introductory module you will learn about the history and origins of cocktails. We will also introduce you to the cocktails of today and what is meant by Molecular Mixology. In addition, you will learn about the equipment and glassware used in the making of cocktails.

Making Cocktails – This module includes the 5 techniques used in the effective creation of a cocktail and the keys steps needed in cocktail methodology. Additionally, you will gain a clear understanding of combining various fruits, spices and herbs and the impact they have on flavour.

Creating Cocktails – In this section of the course you will learn about the eight different types of cocktails which are commonly served to customers. This includes the Margarita, Mojito, Daiquiri, Bloody Mary, Cosmopolitan, Caipirinha, Cuba Libre and the Dry Gin Martini.

Format

All of our courses are delivered directly online and are self paced so you can study wherever and whenever. The course material is delivered in short sections covering each of the above units in detail and is accompanied with a short test at the end of each to reinforce what you have learned. In order to complete the course successfully you will need to pass 21 out of 30 questions in the end of course assessment.

Duration

Our Introduction to Cocktails course typically takes approximately 1 – 2 hours to complete although this can vary for each student. Once registered for the course there is no time limit for completion.

Certification

Once you have successfully passed the end of course assessment you can download and print an industry recognised certificate which is endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality.
